Recommended Reading

Here are some books I really like/found useful.  I found them all at my local library.  Remember: libraries are a great place to find books on anything.  You can even find cookbooks there!  I definitely recommend browsing your libraries online catalog.  Most libraries are members of a network and are linked with other local libraries, so you have even more information at your fingertips!  I like to check out books not just for research, but also as a way to "test drive" the materials, especially knitting and cooking books.  Go check yours out!

Custom Knits: Unleash Your Inner Designer with Top-Down and Improvisational Techniques by Wendy Bernard
Let me tell you, I LOVE top-down knitting.  I'm pretty sure it's the only way to knit.  Of all the books I've read on the topic, this is, by far, my very favorite.  It has great patterns that are young and hip, but are also timeless.  There are also wonderful directions for how to alter the given patterns and create your own.  The sweaters are simple and awesome.  I give it seven out of five gold stars.
